Well I’ve finished my summer run with a couple weeks in the Badlands Circuit. I left Oklahoma and Matt West and I caravanned up to Ashley, ND for a PRCA Rodeo. It rained like crazy the night we pulled in to town and it left the arena under water for the duration of the rodeo, but we had a great time as Matt and I always do! What a good rodeo with an outstanding committee. Special thanks to Miles Miller for all the help. From Ashley I left my trailer and ran home to Montana for about five days to take care of some business, as I hadn’t been home in over a month! I left home and headed for Aberdeen, SD for the first of two rodeos with the Korkow crew. My good friend Hodge was fighting bulls and Kyle Shobe was announcing. I had a good time in Aberdeen and met a new friend Todd Overfield from Dodge. Todd, Hodge and I left Aberdeen the night after the final perf in a thunderstorm and ran down to Mitchell for their annual bull bash.
We pulled into the rodeo grounds at 2 in the morning and had to wake my good friend Davie Kimm up to unlock the gate! The Bull Bash is a fun event and I’d like to thank Lance Carson for having me back. Hodge and Jerry Norton fought bulls while Davie announced and his wife Nikki ran sound, we had a good time and after we all had breakfast the next morning and went and spent some money at Cabelas, Hodge and I were off to Yankton, SD. Yankton is a very nice community and the committee there is one of the best I worked with all year. It was a nice rodeo for my final summer event and as it was Shane Anderson’s final perf as a bullfighter we ended the weekend worth a fighting bull. I got knocked every which way but loose in the barrel and really took a beating but it worth it for Shane to end his career by jumping one in front of a crowd! Thanks to the Korkow crew, Kyle Shobe and Hodge for a fun week. It’s archery season at home now and I will be busy guiding and doing some hunts for Outback Outdoors. I do fly to Texas this weekend for a PBR but for the most part my fall will be spent in the backcountry! Take care everyone…
Well I am sitting at the home of my announcer friend Matt West in Oklahoma as I write this, and its 100 degrees! Im glad to be headed north this week. I came down here to the world famous Mesquite Championship Rodeo in Texas three weeks ago. Stace Smith nows owns and operates Mesquite and let me tell you it is a great rodeo! A true production, which Smith Pro Rodeos are known for… Rorey Lemell runs a great rodeo. I had a good time while I was there except for a little hiccup when my truck got broken into at lunch and alot of stuff was stolen! From Mesquite I had some down time and I went to Weatherford and spent the week with an old friend and her family. Bree Worthington, now Clay, is a trick rider I met almost ten years ago and we have remained friends ever since. I spent the week out at her parents ranch and had a great time. I also got to meet her husband Nathan and Son Dillon! I left Weatherford and headed to Guthrie, OK for a Lazy E PBR. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Robert Simpson and Lazy E produce the best PBR events in the country and I love being a part of them. Matt Baldwin, Jesse Byrne and Steve Wangler fought bulls, Richard Jones ran sound and Charlie Throckmorton and Brandon Bates did the announcing. It was great to see all those guys and I actually played golf for two days with Brandon, Richard and Robert. I left Guthrie and headed back to Weatherford for a couple days to get the trailer and then I returned to Mesquite for two more performances. They went smooth, Randy Schmutz did the announcing chores and I had some more fun. I am now headed north for the last leg of my summer road trip in the Dakota’s. I hope everyone is having a great summer!

Hi There! I am right in the heat of the summer rodeo season and I have stopped home for a week. It is actually my last week at home until September! I worked the Thermopolis, Wyoming PRCA Rodeo for Donna Vold Larsen. I had a good time; Triple V puts on a great show. Tim Fuller announced that rodeo and on Sunday we decided to go whitewater rafting. Now the Wind River is at its highest point since 1995 and we are talking class 4 rapids! It was wild; we had a great time and would like to thank Cody and the crew at Wind River Canyon Whitewater (www.windrivercanyonraft.com) for an intense experience! I also got to meet the great actor Wilford Brimley during our parade there, what a great guy! From there I went to Mobridge, South Dakota for the Fourth of July. The Fourth of July weekend is known as Cowboy Christmas in the rodeo world and is always a great time to be at a rodeo seeing friends. Despite a rainy and wet Friday performance it went really well and I got to work with my friend and the voice of Outback Outdoors Davie Kimm (www.daviekimm.com) I even got in the barrel and got knocked around when they turned out a fighting bull to sell the final perf. Now I have to get our Manitoba Bear footage edited for the next Webisode at www.outbackoutdoors.net then I’m off to Texas and Oklahoma for three weeks!
Stay safe…
Hi Everyone… I just returned to Montana from Manitoba, Canada where I was on a bear hunt for Outback Outdoors. We hunted with Adrenaline Outfitters and let me tell you they are the real deal for big bears! They are offering a great program to get young people hunting where they will give a free hunt to a youth ages 12-18 when accompanied by an adult paying full price. I don’t know of any other outfitter offering a deal like this so spread the word and check them out or contact me and I can get you their info! It’s on the road I go now, to Thermopolis, WY and then Mobridge, SD for a couple PRCA shows. I will be running hard all summer but I’ll keep you updated often!
Well, I just got home to Montana from two great PBR events in Lexington KY and Providence, RI. I flew to Lexington to work a Lazy E Challenger Tour Event and as usual it was awesome. Charlie Throckmorton and Clint Adkins announced, Marc Stevenson ran sound and Mad Dog, Matt Baldwin and Bill Bass fought bulls. Lazy E’s events are like a BFTS without the television, they are so well produced and so much fun to work. At the end of the day JB Mauney rode three to take the win. I hear JB has been going to PRCA rodeos, anyone want to wager on him making the NFR? From Lexington I flew to NY to spend a week of downtime with my family. I ended up playing golf and bass fishing and had a relaxing week! I then ran down to Providence, RI to do an Enterprise tour event for Jerry Nelson. Racer Botkin announced, Richard Jones played the tunes and two outstanding young guns; Jacob Seaford and Casey Craigen fought bulls. Marvin Wycuff was nice enough to let the whole crew stay with him in his trailer that weekend, a decision I think he regrets! Austin Meier was your event champ and it was a great bull ride. Austin is also an avid outdoorsman just returning from British Columbia where he killed a B&C Black Bear, way to go man! Speaking of bears, Jim and I are leaving Saturday to go to Manitoba on a bear hunt for Outback Outdoors. When I get home from there, I start a long summer of rodeos in Thermopolis, WY. I will be in touch when we get back from Canada… Oh, by the way, check out the new uniforms!
